Best Walking Trails
Northwest Lancaster County River Trail
Paved trail running along the Susquehanna River from Columbia toward Marietta. Flat, well maintained, stunning river views. Dogs love the water smells and long stretches. Best for: All dogs. Flat paved surface works for seniors, length works for high energy breeds.
Chickies Rock County Park Columbia/Marietta
Challenging hiking trails with incredible overlook views of the Susquehanna. Rocky and steep in sections. Keep your dog leashed cliff edges are real and dangerous. Best for: Athletic, sure footed dogs who enjoy hiking. Not recommended for puppies or seniors.

Located between Lititz and Ephrata, this 5,000 acre area has fields, forests, and wetlands. Dogs on leash during certain seasons (check PA Game Commission rules). Late winter brings thousands of snow geese during migration incredible sight. Best for: Nature loving dogs who enjoy varied terrain. Check seasonal restrictions before visiting.

Rail trail from Elizabethtown toward Lebanon County. Flat crushed limestone surface, easy on paws. Passes through farmland and woods. One of my go to trails with professional walking clients. Best for: All dogs. Quiet and flat, perfect for dogs who get overstimulated by busy parks.
